I actually don’t know why they keep ignoring me. Surely the noise becomes quite inconvenient when they are watching the television, having a conversation or trying to sleep.
I know I am one of the best zoo keepers in the world but with so many animals to look after all on my own, I can’t always attend to their needs at the same time. I’m surprised they haven’t asked me to leave – or even employed some extra staff. Especially when all of the animals want their meals at the same time and it takes me a while to get round to them all. Oh the racquet at 6pm!!
I suppose that with that giant baby making the same demands to be fed, they may not notice us so much. But seriously… Are they deaf? Or do they honestly not mind?
On second thoughts, how dare they ignore me?! I care for these animals that they placed in their own lounge room and I save them the trouble of having to do anything! I do it all! And what thanks do I get? A little appreciation wouldn’t go astray.
I have to admit though, I love my job. And this family of giants do keep me entertained. I mean, they are just so dumb!
Take for example a couple of days ago. All the animals had finished their breakfast and were being reasonably well behaved – they were just playing and working off their meals. Then that smallest giant makes her way over to us and starts excitedly pointing and saying “woooooo” then placing her hand in the air! It was so funny! She looked ridiculous. But the best part was when the older ones say “yes, there’s the elephant!” just as excitedly! Idiots! Elephants don’t put their hands in the air!! Or when the smallest one started hitting my giraffe on the head and then stretching her neck and standing on her tip-toes saying “tall-tall-tall”. Giraffes don’t say “tall”!! Gosh!
They spend enough time around these animals, you would think they could take a moment to educate themselves. Or ask me!! I’m here all day, every day!
Anyway, I guess I best get back to my rounds… These animals don’t look after themselves! Or did I already mention that?
In case you are wondering what is going on here – I’m linking up with ‘A mum in the wild’ for a little creative writing this week… “All you need is an object around the house or a photograph that inspires a story and you’re on to a winning Short Tale. Display the photo or picture of the object at the top of the post for inspiration and then let the words flow.”

Love it!!

Wow! I would have NEVER thought of poster that thought he was a zoo keeper. So brilliant!
Loved this.
‘Or when the smallest one started hitting my giraffe on the head and then stretching her neck and standing on her tip-toes saying “tall-tall-tall”. Giraffes don’t say “tall”!! Gosh!’
And the ending was perfect! Thanks so much for joining up honey.
