Bangkok was crazy! We were only there for 2 nights and we stayed at the Novotel in Silom. It was perfect for what we wanted to do and the area was great. And much cheaper than the tiny room we had in Singapore that had cost us twice the price! (You can read about the first leg of our holiday in Singapore and the summary of our trip too if you so desire).
My all time favourite mode of travel is now officially the Tuk-Tuk. There is something wonderful about it! I loved Bangkok. The Thai people are beautiful. Although, some were a little dodgy. The first night we arrived we went to take a taxi to the local night markets – we got VERY ripped off with that taxi fare. But after an argument and my concerns over the safety of my baby after the taxi driver wouldn’t let us get out of the car, we payed what he demanded and quickly got out.
I would say the shopping and the markets are much better in Bangkok than in Beijing (my only 2 comparisons I have thus far) as the Bangkok markets had more variety and the stall holders were not so aggressive. It was waaaay less intense and more friendly and I liked that! We bought a lot of clothes! My very manly Patrick seemed to buy double what I bought due to his strong love for clothes shopping and new clothing – but don’t tell him I told you that!
We also did some exploring and went on a boat cruise, but that wasn’t as exciting as the shopping! So there ends my stories of Bangkok. It started with shopping and ended with shopping!

Some of the homes we came across on our boat ride – I don’t think they have council regulations enforced over there? The difference between accommodation and living styles varied so very much from house to house – this home was next door to a very colourful and rich-looking home with a gold painted roof!

This little boy was the son of the people who were driving the boat. He seemed to love a bit of a snuggle and made himself right at home!

Mother and daughter hitting the markets… strangely the daughter half of this duo didn’t seem all that interested in the shopping!
We didn’t take that many photos in Bangkok… we were too busy shopping! We did however take a photo once we arrived home of everything we had bought. After taking it we realised that we forgot to include the clothes we were all wearing and the clothes that were in the dirty washing pile. I think we also worked out that with all of these clothes, we spent less than $600 (AUD) in total. A successful few days shopping in my books!

Next stop… Phuket! Will post my recap soon!
