Sunday must be my night. Last week I went to a movie on my own. And this week, as in right now, I am sitting in a cafe (Manto in Norwood if you’re in Adelaide!) having a cup of chamomile tea on my own while Patrick has both children. He’s a keeper!
If you follow me on Instagram (alexandraalive) or Facebook then you know what else I spent my time doing today.
Cleaning. Tidying. Cleaning.
I had friends over for dinner last night and when I woke up this morning the house was a mess! Worth it though, they are fun company. I’m glad I did a little bit of tidying before I went to bed though, or I may not have even got up this morning!
And do you know what? I had the best day! There is something about cleaning up a mess and having a tidy house that I find hugely rewarding and relaxing. Patrick was away and Evie was happy tottering around and playing on her own (with the occasional check-in and cuddle). So I went about doing my thing.
Am I odd? When Patrick tries to give me time to myself he tells me to do nothing… Watch a movie, read a book, go for a walk. Whilst I love those things, I love just making our house look nice. It is so much more stress relieving for me!
Of course I thoroughly dislike cleaning and tidying and cooking and washing when I have a million other things to do. That’s when they stress me out. But when I have time to get housework done, I love it!!
Well wouldn’t you if you did this…

Ok so I’m still working on my kitchen. Patrick came home early and disrupted my plans for me. The nerve, hey?
So tell me, what is your idea of a relaxing Sunday? You can give me ideas for my next giveaway! I’ll see what I can arrange…
