For those of you who follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you would have seen that the Australian Best Blogs competition has been running over the past month or so.
Much to my amazement, I became a finalist in the Parenting category.

And today all of the winners were announced and I was crowned with the title:
“Australia’s Best Young Blogger 2012″
Wow much? I think so.
Still very much in shock.
There were over 1000 entrants in the competition. And there were some incredible blogs to compete against. Take for example, Edenland, who was the overall “Australia’s best blog” winner… She recently went to Africa with World Vision to help expose the poverty crisis. An incredible woman.
What do I do?? Not that.
Further, there was a people’s choice round. And people actually voted for me! Now if that’s not crazy, I don’t know what is!
Does that mean people actually read my blog?!
Now is the time to stop lurking, I think! Say hello. My stats tell me that you are reading, people! Would love you to pop your little heads up. I won’t bite much! Introduce yourself in the comment section…
Oh and one more thing: What should I get mum for mothers day? Do you think the pride of having a winner blogger is enough?

Hello! I’m working my way around the winners of the Best Australian Blogs awards and I wanted to congratulate you on winning the Best Young Blogger Award – well done!

Hi and thanks!! And same to you! Congratulations on winning the words category!
Waving hello……and many many congrats you young thing!!!!! Michelle
I just found your blog & wanted to say I parent almost exactly like you & I’m 22. I gave birth in my car, though instead of at home :p
Thanks for being brave enough to write about all you do as it’s not easy doing things differently (especially when you’re young!)
Thanks Scarlet! I would be very interested in hearing your birth story if you write it… Sounds very inspiring! And I am certainly no braver than you considering we make the same choices
I’m so glad you said hi – love to hear from like minded people… Reminds me I’m not totally insane!
